“ You may have already detected a change, an expansion of topics that all connect...”

So many wise and wonderful subject matter experts have contributed to our content in these pages. You’ re bound to come away having learned something new, thought-provoking or both. You also get a look at things to come: A merging of specialties that all work together to bring about the best outcomes for your patients. Prevention starts with all of us. To capture that concept, we’ ll be introducing a new name for the magazine with our next issue. After many discussions, we voted and landed on a unanimous winner. You get to hear it here first. Drum roll, please? The new name is ….. Clinical Connection.
You may have already detected a change, an expansion of topics that all connect when it comes to preventing healthcare associated conditions. In this issue, you’ ll find two articles that relate to aspectic non-touch technique. The first is in our Back to Basics department where one of our Medline clinicians clears up some of the confusion on what aseptic really means. The second is a Q & A with the founder of the ANTT ® framework that has been a standard in
the UK for many years and is now gaining traction around the world.
The ongoing challenges of pressure injury prevention will take on even greater significance for facilities when the Electronic Clinical Quality Measures( eCQM) mean penalties for healthcareassociated stage 2 pressure injuries. To help your team prepare, be sure to read the insights from our feature,“ Turning Pressure into Progress: A Conversation With Clinical Leaders,” as well as“ Open Your Eyes to Skin Assessments,” which delves into assessing all skin tones, a topic that we keep returning to because of its ongoing importance.
We hope you feel connected to each other and to this magazine. Helping you do your job easier and successfully inspires us to seek connections as well. Let us know if you’ d like to see something specific in an upcoming issue.
Enjoy!
