2024 has been an eventful year so far . The Summer Olympics in Paris showcased excellence in sports , allowing participants to highlight years of preparation and training at one of the most prestigious events of their careers . I was captivated by incredible moments such as the US gold medal wins in both men ’ s and women ’ s basketball , our track and field teams sprinting for gold , and the gymnastics teams demonstrating absolute strength and mental toughness . The dedication of these athletes to intense preparation mirrors the commitment seen in the healthcare supply chain , which continues to strengthen year after year post-COVID .

Meet our guest editor , Marc Phillips As an avid outdoor sports enthusiast , I love spending time in the mountains snowboarding , hiking , and camping ; especially with friends and family . For every outdoor pursuit , I am meticulous in ensuring that I am equipped with all essential gear , which aids in thorough preparation and risk mitigation . This includes everything from checking weather conditions to packing the right equipment and ensuring I have a solid plan in place . This philosophy of preparedness is something I value greatly in my professional life as well , especially when collaborating with our provider partners during challenging periods . Such preparation creates an environment where they can operate as resiliently as possible , even in the face of unexpected disruptions .
